Privacy Policy

Residence Tracker counts the days you spend in each country. To do that it needs your location and, optionally, the metadata of your photos. Neither leaves your device.
What stays on your device only
Your country history, the coordinates of each record, your statuses (citizenship, residence permits), visas and custom rules are stored in the app’s local database.
If you turn on syncing, that data goes to your own iCloud (a private CloudKit database). The developer has no access to it.
Countries are resolved from coordinates offline, using border data bundled in the app — no request is sent to an external geocoding service. Apple’s system geocoder is used only as a fallback and processes the coordinate under Apple’s own terms.
Photos
The "Import from Photos" feature reads only the capture date and coordinate from metadata. Image content is never opened, analysed or transmitted.
Library access is requested separately and is needed only during an import. You can revoke it in iOS Settings at any time.
The result is shown before anything is saved, and imported days can be removed in one action.
What is sent off the device
Crash reports (Firebase Crashlytics), if the toggle is on. A report contains the app and iOS versions, device model, language, theme, subscription flag and the number of stored records. It contains no coordinates and no country history. The toggle can be switched off in Settings.
Purchases are handled by Apple through the App Store. The app never sees your payment details.
There are no ads in the app. No cross-app tracking is performed and the advertising identifier is not requested.
Background location
The app uses significant-location-change and visit events to record your country roughly once a day. This runs in the background and requires the "Always" permission.
"While Using" also works: your country is then resolved each time you open the app, just less often.
Accuracy can be limited to country level — the app does not need precise coordinates to work.
Deleting your data
Deleting the app removes the local database. iCloud data is removed in iOS Settings: Apple ID → iCloud → manage storage.
Days imported from Photos can be deleted separately, leaving the rest of your history intact.
Children
The app is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their data.
